Razeen Architects & Engineers Appointed Lead Design Consultant for Sur Front Development in Sur

Razeen Architects & Engineers has been appointed to commence the consultancy design services for Sur Front Development, a major upcoming hospitality and entertainment masterplan located in the city of Sur, within the South Sharqiyah Governorate.
The project is being developed by Amjaad Group through its subsidiary Sur Front Company, following the signing of an investment and development agreement with the Office of the Governor of South Sharqiyah. The project will be developed at the heart of Sur’s new city centre, envisioned to become the city’s future commercial, tourism, and entertainment hub.

As part of the development strategy, an agreement has been signed with Hospitality Management Holding (HMH) to operate the project’s hotel under its renowned Coral Hotels brand. The selection of a recognized regional operator with a strong presence across the GCC and MENA markets reflects the project’s ambition to introduce international hospitality standards to Sur.

The agreement also represents a significant milestone in strengthening Sur’s tourism offering and positioning the city as a key destination in Oman. The project gains additional importance following the recent recognition of Sur as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2024, highlighting the city’s growing regional prominence.

The Sur Front master development will be implemented in three phases, creating a fully integrated destination:

  • Phase One: Hospitality and outdoor entertainment zone
  • Phase Two: Retail and indoor entertainment zone
  • Phase Three: Residential, office, and complementary services zone

Once completed, the project aims to become Sur’s new commercial and entertainment landmark, offering a vibrant waterfront-style urban destination that integrates tourism, leisure, and commercial activities.

The first phase will feature a four-star hotel development comprising hotel rooms, serviced apartments, and chalets, complemented by a water entertainment center, outdoor recreational areas, playgrounds, and a multi-purpose hall. Phase One will be developed on a 50,000 square meter site, forming part of the larger 195,000 square meter masterplan, which is strategically located adjacent to Sur’s upcoming public park.

Razeen Architects & Engineers will lead the design and consultancy services, guiding the project from early planning and concept development through to detailed design, ensuring the development aligns with international hospitality standards while reflecting the character and potential of Sur as a growing tourism destination.

The Corp Makkah – Al Naseem Hotel comprises two towers, each designed to offer a harmonious blend of contemporary comfort and traditional charm. With a vertical expanse of 19 floors, including 2 basements, a ground floor, a mezzanine level, and 15 upper floors, the hotel is set to become a landmark in the Al Naseem district of Makkah.

  • Location: Al Taef Road, approximately 12 km from Masjid Al Haram.
  • Hotel Composition: Two towers with a total of 460 rooms.
