Razeen Engineering Consultancy (REC) is proud to announce the advancement of the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center project, currently at the Concept Design Stage, developed for the Ministry of Social Development, Sultanate of Oman.
Planned on a generous site area of approximately 50,000 square meters, the project is envisioned as a comprehensive reform and guidance facility dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and reintegration of juveniles into society
Project Highlights:
- Human-Centered Design Approach: The concept is guided by international best practices, including principles aligned with the Nelson Mandela Rules, emphasizing dignity, safety, adequate accommodation, natural light, ventilation, and access to healthcare and education.
- Cluster-Based Planning Concept: The preferred concept adopts a cluster-based design, where each cluster functions as an independent living and rehabilitation unit accommodating up to 20 juveniles. This approach:
• Enhances supervision and operational efficiency
• Improves security by limiting cross-movement
• Supports individualized rehabilitation programs
• Allows phased construction and future expansion - Integrated Rehabilitation Model: The facility includes:
• Separate accommodation blocks for male and female juveniles
• Dedicated units for reform and guidance cases
• Educational facilities (school and training spaces)
• Medical and psychological clinics
• Police administration and security facilities
• Therapeutic pools and recreational areas
• Supporting services including laundry and staff facilities - Clear Zoning & Controlled Access: The master planning ensures distinct separation between administration, accommodation, rehabilitation, and service areas, with secure yet humane circulation systems and dedicated main and service entrances.
