Razeen Marks the Launch of Al Buraimi Science & Innovation Centre
Al Buraimi Governorate celebrated the official inauguration of the Al Buraimi Science & Innovation Centre in May 2026, marking a significant milestone in advancing innovation-driven education and future-ready learning environments within the Sultanate.
At an investment value of approximately RO 618,000, the project was funded by OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries and designed and supervised by Razeen Engineering Consultants L.L.C., reflecting the firm’s commitment to delivering impactful educational and community-focused developments across Oman.
The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, in the presence of HE Dr. Hamad bin Ahmed Al Busaidi, Governor of Al Buraimi, alongside senior officials from both the public and private sectors.
Spanning more than 61,000 square meters, the Centre has been envisioned as an integrated scientific destination that combines education, innovation, and technology within a distinctive architectural identity. Through a modern and future-oriented design approach, Razeen Engineering Consultants translated the concept of scientific exploration into a built environment inspired by the solar system, featuring a satellite-inspired spatial composition that integrates a circular science building with a square-shaped innovation hall, creating an iconic landmark for the Governorate.
The Centre incorporates a comprehensive range of educational and technical facilities, including advanced innovation and robotics laboratories, a planetarium, a mini science museum, educational cinema, scientific modeling halls, applied technology spaces, and interactive learning environments. Additional facilities include a theater, educational auditorium, VIP reception lounge, retail outlet, dedicated public amenities, and more than 65 parking spaces to ensure accessibility and visitor convenience.
As the project designer and engineering supervisor, Razeen Engineering Consultancy L.L.C. played a pivotal role in transforming the project vision into a sustainable and functional educational destination. The firm’s scope encompassed architectural and engineering design development, technical coordination, project supervision, and ensuring the successful execution of the Centre in accordance with the highest quality and engineering standards.
The Centre has been strategically designed to foster innovation, creativity, and experiential learning by bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical application. It will offer specialized scientific programs, innovation workshops, digital learning platforms, and student-centered initiatives that empower young talents with future skills aligned with the evolving demands of science and technology sectors.
This landmark project further demonstrates the growing role of educational infrastructure in supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 by strengthening the knowledge-based economy, nurturing national talent, and creating an ecosystem that encourages research, entrepreneurship, and technological advancement.
The initiative also highlights the contribution of OQ Refineries and Petroleum Industries in supporting impactful educational and innovation focused investments through strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Education, reinforcing national efforts to cultivate a highly skilled and innovation-driven generation.
