Razeen Completes Design for Recreation Centre and Central Store at Vocational College of Marine Sciences
Al Khaburah, Al Batinah North, Oman — Razeen Engineering Consultancy is pleased to announce the completion of the design for a new Recreation Centre and Central Store at the Vocational College of Marine Sciences in Al Khaburah, a project for the Ministry of Labour that is now progressing to the construction stage, with Razeen appointed to provide construction supervision services.
Located at Plot No. 268 in Al Khaburah, the development occupies a 19,328-square-metre site and comprises a 1,090-square-metre G+1 Recreation Centre and a 390-square-metre G+1 Central Store, together with parking, landscaping, and associated site development works.
Creating a Better Environment for Students and Staff
The Recreation Centre has been designed as more than simply an additional facility on campus. It is intended to provide students and staff with a comfortable, welcoming, and active environment that supports both their daily needs and the wider college experience.
The building includes dining facilities, a kitchen, classrooms, an IT laboratory, staff offices, and supporting spaces, bringing together a range of functions within an efficiently planned and contemporary facility.
The Central Store has been carefully planned to support the specialist nature of the college, with dedicated storage areas for agriculture, engineering, ship spare parts, water treatment, fishing equipment, and other operational requirements.
Together, the two buildings are designed to support the diverse academic, practical, and operational activities of the Vocational College of Marine Sciences.
Design Focused on People and Purpose
The architectural approach combines contemporary design, practical planning, durability, and efficient use of space. Particular attention has been given to creating facilities that are easy to use, maintain, and adapt to the everyday needs of students, staff, and college operations.
For Razeen, the objective has been to ensure that the project is not only technically sound, but also creates an environment that feels functional, comfortable, and appropriate to a specialist educational institution focused on marine sciences and vocational training.
From Design to Construction
With the design now complete, the project is moving into the construction stage. Razeen will continue its involvement through construction supervision, working closely with the Ministry of Labour, contractor, and other project stakeholders to ensure that the approved design is translated into reality while maintaining the required quality, technical standards, and design intent.
